David M. Jacobs, Ph.D. is a retired Associate Professor of History at Temple University where he specialized in twentieth century American history and culture. Dr. Jacobs began researching the controversy over unidentified flying objects in America in the mid 1960’s, and has amassed over 40 years of primary research data and analytical hypotheses on the subject... Abductees steadfastly insist that they have been taken aboard UFOs against their will and forced to submit to a variety of frightening medical procedures that focus on human genetics and alien-human hybridization. Their contentions are supported by a 1991 Roper poll of 5,947 adults that indicated, as many as, 3.7 million individuals may have been abducted by aliens in the United States, alone (Hopkins, Jacobs, and Westrum).

Jacobs has explained in many of his numerous interviews that the methodology of the poll had to be adjusted after the initial numbers came in because the percentage of likely abductees was "embarrassingly high." But just as often he notes that the vast majority of abductees do not recall their experiences due to the clandestine nature of the alien's agenda.

This is done, in his opinion, by the aliens likely employing a technology that somehow deeply buries in the subconscious and/or masks these memories with other imagery known as screen memories. This begs the question of if their survey derived numbers, arrived at by asking about strange events abductees often experience before learning of their abductions, have a fatal flaw that might indicate the numbers are much higher.

Assuming we know that abductee memories are hidden totally by the aliens except to a minority who dig into some strange related events they recall, (note some have partial memories they think must have been dreams at first) it must in turn be possible that those related events being remembered are equally as well hidden as the abduction memories are in a portion of the population. In other words, perhaps the aliens hide both abduction and these strange event memories completely in some unknown number of cases. If so, this unknown number of additional abductees could be massive as some believe. More on that further down the page.

Jacobs might contend that the related remembered strange events are how the beings mask their activities and that is reflected in his data. But what if some abductees need no masking techniques to be employed? Put simply, they had all abduction related memories successfully buried by the aliens. In other words, they needed no further masking of alien uncovered bleed through material being remembered and thus don't remember anything weird at all.

Houston UFO hunter says 1 in 4 people have been abducted by hostile aliens
