"I will listen to you, especially when we disagree." - PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA
On that note I leave you with the closing statements of the aforementioned email from my friend BMutiny ThemIDefy...
"I will listen to you, especially when we disagree." - PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA
As a friend of mine that goes by the name of BMutiny ThemIDefy pointed out in a mass email yesterday...
"Obama landslide victory shows U.S. public does NOT support Negative Campaigning. Landslide Victory for the first mixed-race Black-White President, definitively shows that the MAJORITY of the U.S. public, especially young people, do not respond in the old way to Negative Campaigning, using coded Racism, and Xenophobia, Religious Bigotry, Stereotypes, and such Fear Messages as that."
I couldn't agree more, and what a wonderful thing it is, but now we must go to work. The GeorgeWashingtonBlog reminded us yesterday that...
"Now that a Democrat has been elected president, the Democrats in Congress have no excuse. They can no longer pretend that they have to “hold back” to win the election.
They have no excuse to delay war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and company for Iraq.
They have no excuse to delay war crimes charges for torture.
They have no excuse to delay criminal charges for spying on Americans.
They have no excuse to delay criminal charges for 9/11.
Now is not the time for Democratic machine politics. Now is the time to implement true American values - cherished across the political aisle - of liberty and justice."
Now today statements have emerged from from Ralph Nader that offer Obama a little advice...
“My advice to Obama is to try and organise his people, because from day one he’s going to be a prisoner of the giant corporations, who control the government he presides over. There will be a lot of economic crisis, wars in Iraq and on the Afghanistan-Pakistani border, and growing unemployment. So he doesn’t have much room to maneuver, unless he builds more political energy among the people."
Nader then goes on to express his doubts about whether Obama is capable of such a task, and states that Obama's "foreign policy will be very much like George W. Bush," but that wouldn't be change would it? But I think Nader has this equation backwards, as Obama stated, "I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to – it belongs to you."
So if it belongs to us then it is also up to us to "build more political energy among the people," as Nader states.
So can we endlessly demand that Obama address the unanswered questions of the 9/11 victims' families? Yes We Can!
Can we endlessly demand that Obama address the questions of the more than 500 architectural and engineering professionals that are "demanding of Congress a truly independent investigation into the “collapses” of all 3 WTC high-rise buildings on 9/11"? Yes We Can!
Can we endlessly pose to Obama the same question that Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth founder Justin Martell did early on in Obama's campaign when he asked the now President-elect "will you stand behind Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul in advocating for a new investigation into 9/11?" Yes We Can!

Can we make it known that when The Guardian published the article, Obama Might Pursue Criminal Charges Against Bush Administration - Biden says criminal violations will be pursued, that a huge amount of Americans were excited. Can we prove that it is a huge amount of us? Can we make it known that Obama's concerns, quoted in the article, of being "perceived by Republicans" of being on "a partisan witch hunt" are unfounded in the face of the evidence? Yes We Can!
On that note I leave you with the closing statements of the aforementioned email from my friend BMutiny ThemIDefy...
"This is an Historic Opportunity to make your voices heard, whatever your political views!!!
As a mere beginning, I have joined with the Avaaz effort to send the President-elect any message you please, to be posted on a wall in Washington D.C.. My message was, to MAKE IT A PRIORITY FOR THE NEW ADMINISTRATION TO END TORTURE APPROVED-OF AND INSTITUTED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, with the "War on Terror" as the excuse. I asked Obama to BRING THE PERPETRATORS ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL, TO TRIAL AS WAR CRIMINALS. {That includes, of course, most of the present Bush-Cheney mis-Administration!} Obama is an EXPERT IN CONSTITUTIONAL LAW, which he studied at Harvard and has TAUGHT at Columbia University. [The Constitution, of course, BANS IN EXPLICIT TERMS, all "Cruel and Unusual Punishments" -- Amendment VIII, the Bill of Rights...... which is CLEAR ENOUGH.]
My feeling is, that young people and Liberals and Black groups, which did so much to elect Obama, can BE OF GREAT INFLUENCE in guiding policy in the next Administration; my feeling is, that we are not going to dis-band and leave it all up to Obama, our "Savior" {barf!} to "save the world" all by his little lonesome self! Obama NEEDS our input; now more than ever!!! to fulfil our righteous dreams of Justice and Peace.
That is why I am making the suggestion here, that you each and all send YOUR message, stating YOUR thoughts, of what you want Obama to PRIORITIZE. There are STILL 3 MONTHS to go, before he takes office! A LOT CAN BE DONE AND PLANNED before next January 20th, Inauguration Day!
Sending A MILLION messages, within the next 48 hours, is a way to SHOW STRENGTH and a BEGINNING of a New Page in Social Activism!!!! That is my firm belief. That a lot of what goes on in a future Obama Administration, is, in every sense, up to US!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go to the link below. {And, you don't have to be American to participate in this!}"
Let's get to 1 million signers and messages to Obama!
