If I argued for destroying the right to privacy because a few people misuse private chat features to sell drugs or whatever, you'd think I was nuts, right? And gun control won't do anything anyways. The UK has plenty of it and they now need metal detectors in schools and are melting down as a
society.
Editor's Note: Metal detectors is a great idea, as is armed guards and trained civilians, and as Styx points out, better mental health treatment, teachers, and parents, would be just grand as well.

Embattled congressional freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., once asked a judge to show leniency toward a group of Minnesota men accused of trying to join the Islamic State terror group.
“The best deterrent to fanaticism is a system of compassion,” she wrote at the time. “We must alter our attitude and approach; if we truly want to effect change, we should refocus our efforts on inclusion and rehabilitation.”
The nine Minnesota men were facing decades in prison after being accused in 2015 of making plans, including buying fake passports, in an effort to travel to Syria and fight for ISIS, which was at its peak level of activity and held territory in Syria and Iraq.
Omar, who was then a Minnesota state representative, was part of a group that sent letters to Judge Michael Davis urging him to give shorter sentences, arguing that harsher penalties would only lead to more people joining the terror group.
“Incarcerating 20-year-old men for 30 or 40 years is essentially a life sentence. Society will have no expectations of the to-be 50- or 60-year-old released prisoners; it will view them with distrust and revulsion,” read Omar’s letter to the judge, as obtained by FOX 9 of Minneapolis-St. Paul.
“Such punitive measures not only lack efficacy, they inevitably create an environment in which extremism can flourish, aligning with the presupposition of terrorist recruitment,” she added.
Roger Stone was not arrested for anything to do with Russia. The Trump-Russia case is cover for the classified email crimes of Hillary Clinton (among other things). Note: Goodman thinks that William Barr will fix much of this mess when he becomes the new Attorney General. The problem for Trump is that Barr is a CIA swamp creature.

Roger Stone has been arrested, virtually guaranteeing that the media cycle for the foreseeable future will focus on tying this former adviser to the president to all things Russia collusion, and by logical extension, all things impeach Donald Trump.
So be it. That’s the modern day media.
But within this media storm is a nugget of a story that should make American blood boil. The bigger story is the FBI’s treatment of Stone during his arrest.
“Roger Stone arrested in predawn FBI raid: CNN video,” MarketWatch reported in a headline.
How nice CNN was able to “obtain” that footage. Wonder how that happened?
The drama didn’t go unnoticed.
Stone’s neighbor, former NFLer Chad Johnson, watched it unfold during his early morning jog and subsequently tweeted, the Post noted, “FBI arrested my neighbor … I’ve only seen s—t like that in movies, crazy start to my Friday.”
The big story here isn’t so much Stone, and his arrest on obstruction, giving false statements and witness tampering. The big story here is the Stormin’ Norman thuggishness of America’s FBI.
What exactly was the dire, dangerous situation that necessitated agents’ sneaky dark-hour, guns-drawn, surround-the-home service of arrest warrant?
Was Stone a known drug dealer with a dastardly past? A violent offender with a lengthy criminal history? A suspected terrorist known to be armed to the teeth?
No. But then again, neither was Paul Manafort, another of Robert Mueller’s arrest picks.
