Colin Donoghue has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Mexico and is currently trying to wake up the American People. He is the author of The Progressive Manifesto and the multi-media essay Eating The Apple, which contain more crucial and useful information for personal and political liberation, they can be found on his page: http://legalizehemp.zaadz.com.
John-Michael Talboo (JMT)-Q:
Colin I often try and tell people everything boils down to politics, that they are affected by politics whether they think they are or not, and that they should give a damn. Not to mention the fact that it's fun giving a damn! The thing is no matter how well I craft and demonstrate my argument to those points; many walk away none the more enlightened. This leads me to believe that what I'm dealing with is more than just cognitive dissonance, but more sadly willful ignorance, or even worse just blatant apathy. So if an adage is a "saying that sets forth a general truth and that has gained credit through long use" then “ignorance is bliss” could just be a lie that has been repeated so often people believe it. Could you speak to these points Colin, and while you're at it tell the readers how you first got interested in politics.
Colin Donoghue-A:
That's an excellent question. There are several reasons for apathy among Americans, but first we must address a problem that precedes apathy, and is actually the larger problem: ignorance. As you said, the lie that ignorance is bliss is pervasively accepted, especially in America, and it is a major hindrance to personal and social progress. Your reference to the quote of Hitler's propaganda chief, Josef Goebbels, is very appropriate: "If you tell a big enough Lie, and keep on repeating it, in the end people will come to believe it." I'll get to that shortly.
Apathy is a lack of interest and emotion concerning important matters; if one is unaware of the important matter to begin with however, their inaction cannot be rightly called apathetic. This ignorance of the important matter, or what I often call a crucial truth, is often the underlying problem (that we mislabel as apathy), not a moral lacking within the individual. Most people will act against an unjust/oppressive/violent act/policy/system if they are fully aware of it. We all have a conscience, and there are some fundamental similarities between the discernment of what is right and wrong among women and men of the world. Of course there are some obvious exceptions, one might refer to individuals with psychotic tendencies of one sort of another, Nazis, serial killers, etc., but this is a small minority of humans, and in the socio-political context we are discussing, they are not a determining factor in the societal result.
The point is that the main reasons why harmful actions, policies and systems continue on for so long is: disempowerment conditioning of the Public, coupled with the crucial truth concerning the important matter having been made unclear, usually by those that are committing or supporting the harmful act/policy/system. In this way, individuals that would otherwise be in opposition (those not sufficiently disempowered psychologically), cant act on their conscience; they are given conflicting information that makes things that are completely wrong appear to have sufficient benefits to cancel out its unjust and immoral nature. Or they are told that any alternative would be even worse, so this necessary war/oppression/torture, etc. is actually for the best. Those that perpetrate violence, injustice and oppression are well aware of the necessity to misinform the Public, it is critical that people not know what is really going on, because if they did, they will likely revolt and remove the criminals from their positions of power. George H.W. Bush reportedly once said: If the American people had ever known the truth about what we Bushes have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched." (I imagine he his referring to funding the Nazis and being involved with the assassination of JFK.)
It is much more efficient and practical to have the people you are exploiting to actually ignorantly support you (or even be willing to die for you), and this is achieved through deception. Deception and fascism go hand in hand, just as deception and war do. Today this deception, or muddying of the waters of moral clarity, so to speak, is achieved mostly through propaganda dispensed through corporate media outlets. There are other major dispensaries of misinformation and disempowerment of course, like religious, corporate and educational institutions, but here it is sufficient to focus on the media, since they have been the main obstacle to exposing the major examples of mass political deception in America today, which as you know, have had far-reaching negative consequences: the official story on 9/11, our democratic elections and the Federal Reserve. Perhaps we can get to these issues later.
Concerning the issue of truly apathetic individuals, or those that know the crucial truths about a situation, but still do nothing, their behavior can usually be summed up in one word: disempowerment. I've found they usually believe variations of one or more of the following ideas:
Whatever I do will be insufficient, the problem is too big for me to make a difference.
If I speak out or take other action, I may be put on a list, harassed, arrested or even killed, and that would not be worth my efforts and/or would be harmful to my family, etc.
Taking action concerning political matters is not my role, this is meant for other people, like journalists, congress members, non-profit groups, etc. to take care of.
The first is a lie we are told by institutions, and often other citizens who wish to support their apathy through shared acceptance of the idea among their peers. Each individual certainly does make a difference, even just one, in the right circumstances, could spark a revolution. The Margaret Mead quote is fitting here: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has. And if enough individuals took action, it would become a national movement. It seems often people today are waiting for a movement to join rather than having confidence in their own power for change.
The second idea is one that needs to be answered from an experiential perspective on the benefits of acting on the behalf of victims of injustice, oppression and violence. This is an interesting and large topic that gets into spirituality and psychology, but basically the reality is that there are personal benefits to opposing these various manifestations of mass harm, that are not talked about much in mainstream society. There is satisfaction to be found in social/economic/environmental-justice activism that can’t be found through superficial sources, and those that live in fear of being crucified for their act of righteousness are actually condemning themselves to a life of mediocrity and low-level satisfaction, due to the karmic consequences of their (in)action. Like I said though, this is necessarily an experiential conclusion, you will only know of the benefits if you partake in the Resistance; I invite those reading this who are not currently political active to try some activism (nonviolent of course) and see for themselves.
The third idea is based on ignorance of the necessity of participation of the citizenry in order for a democracy to operate correctly, just as the existence of an independent media, and non-fraudulent elections are necessary. We are all citizens, we must all participate, otherwise we leave openings for those that do not wish to represent the People, and instead act only on their selfish interests, to take control of our tax dollars... Historically this has had very destructive consequences for the majority of course, including those that thought they were nothing more than a powerless bystander; like Plato said: The penalty good men suffer for not getting involved in public affairs is being ruled by evil men. This tendency to think of politics as spectator sport is decreasing however, as the amount of unemployed, uninsured and homeless, etc. increase under the current fascist neo-con agenda; people are feeling the effects more and more, the comfortable middle class is shrinking, and becoming much more uncomfortable, and therefore they are becoming much more concerned with the political system that changed their lifestyle. I've often heard the idea that until mainstream America has their personal lives noticeably affected, they aren't going to take action, it's not enough that women and children are being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan with weapons paid for by their tax dollars, it needs to be in their personal sphere of reality. There is truth to this for some people, however I think it's important that those living comfortably and free realize that their lives are already being dictated, through the paradigm in which they live and consider normal. Systematic normality in America is currently insane; it produces suffering and destruction while claiming to be a model for the world to follow. Americans need to think outside the box (literally as in TV programming, figuratively concerning status-quo beliefs and systems) if they are to escape their addiction to a paradigm that is limiting their lives to a soul-suppressing, mundane level of experience, that knows nothing of the greater possibilities available to mankind.
As for me, I originally went to school with the intention of becoming an airline pilot. I thought the combination of making lots of money, traveling the world, and the fun of flying was a great combo. In 2000 however I discovered Ralph Nader and the Green Party. I became aware of a political reality that was extremely unjust and destructive, and my priorities changed, along with my major in school, from Aeronautical Science to Political Science. The first cause that I became very active in was cannabis legalization, after learning about the ridiculous origin of its prohibition, the enormous environmental benefits of industrial hemp and the medicinal value of marijuana for those with various diseases. It's still an issue I am very passionate about today, along with many others, like 9/11 Truth, Election Truth, and Vegetarianism. The core of all of these causes is an interest in reducing unnecessary violence, destruction and oppression. I was brought up to not take shit from anybody, and I discovered quite a load of it in the political world, so it was a natural transition for me to become an activist. I don't like when people mess with my life, liberty or pursuit of happiness, and I understand that in speaking out for others who are victims of injustice I'm protecting my own rights as well. As King said: Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
JMT-Q:
Wow... Colin that answer changed my position on human cloning in one fell swoop! This world is in desperate need on many more yous sir! Joking and praise aside, I think you very comprehensively weeded out and broke down why people don't get involved. In regards to the truly apathetic you mentioned there being psychological factors when it comes to people not getting into activism for fear of reprisal, and as I stated I think cognitive dissonance does play a role. I think psychological denial is an interrelated aspect to almost all the things you spoke of. In specific it relates to the issue of 9/11 truth you mentioned. On May 03, 2007 The George Washington Blog ran a story that showcased psychiatrists and psychologists that believe the official story of 9/11 is crazy! The blog stated...
"Moreover, many of these mental health experts have concluded that the government's account is so obviously false that people who believe the government's version are in psychological denial."
So there you go, take that in conjunction with everything you mentioned and we are really fighting an uphill battle with getting to the truth of 9/11.
You also spoke of how one person can make a difference. And I love the Margaret Mead quote, the cool thing is you practice what you preach. On March 30th of last year you demonstrated the effect one person can have as you were featured in The Albuquerque Tribune Newspaper for inspiring a screening of the documentary film 9/11: Press For Truth at a theatre called the Guild Cinema there in Albuquerque. The article goes into detail about the film, which can also be viewed on this site, so rather than getting into that can you tell the readers more about how you were able to get the screening accomplished and also how you were able to garner the media attention?
Colin Donoghue-A:
It was extremely easy; I just went by the theater with the DVD and asked the owner if he would consider showing it. I told him I would help promote the screening as well. I actually just heard back from a theater in Eugene, OR today saying they would show it as well. All I did was send them a short email this morning summarizing the film and offering to provide the DVD. I will contact the local papers here as well, to see if they will do a review, which is really important, because it's a way to get the sources of 9/11 Truth in the mainstream media, which could be the beginning of the end of mainstream denial and complicity. Those psychiatrists/psychologists that are confirming that the official 9/11 story is so absurd that you'd have to be in massive denial to believe it, are doing a service to America, and the world. We are truly living in an Orwellian upside down society today, where the truly crazy call those who simply use their common sense and logic "tin foil hat conspiracy nuts", etc. But we must remember that the true numbers of those that don't buy the bullshit story on 9/11 are great and growing greater everyday. However, the corporate media will attempt to make us seem like a small "radical" fringe of society for as long as they can. It's like the many examples of large demonstrations in America and elsewhere, when the press the next day says the numbers attending were a fraction of what they actually were; they want to minimize our realization of our own numbers, keep us isolated from one another, keep us disempowered. Basically, I believe we are still fighting an age-old battle between the few wicked and the many good: fascism vs. democracy. Today, even with their pervasive propaganda and conditioning which has assimilated so many Americans, the few in American government that were the main engineers of 9/11, the war, the destruction of our Constitutional rights, etc. are probably a few dozen in number, against hundreds of millions of Americans, and billions worldwide. Let us not forget that the biggest demonstrations in American history were against the Iraq war just prior to the invasion, that Gore won (and so did Kerry), and the majority of New Yorkers were polled as not believing the official 9/11 story (this may now be the majority of all Americans as well, thanks to films like "9/11 Press For Truth", "Zeitgeist", "9/11 Mysteries", "Martial Law: 9/11" and books like those by David Ray Griffin). We have to call their lies lies, their fascism fascism, and take a stand against these wicked producers of deception and violence we are told are our "leaders". And the best way to do that is to "debunk the debunkers" as Griffin puts it; to present the evidence, the sources, so that they cant just reduce the debate to name calling, they will have to discuss the many unanswered questions. And when we force that to happen, it's all over, the Big Lie will be exposed, and the insanity that has been the result of that deception can be stopped and reversed.
JMT-Q:
All good points Colin, it seems to me that websites like http://www.debunking911.com or The Journal of Debunking 9/11 Conspiracy Theories mainly focus on scientific issues, as do hit pieces like the one the History Channel put out. I really don't want to see the 9/11 truth movement become akin to the movement of truth seeking that surrounded the JFK assassination that seemed to focus on the magic bullet quite a bit. I mean you can have "experts" go back and forth on stuff like that all day and make what seem like good points. Of course JFK researchers pointed out many types of non-scientific evidence that would make all the bullet stuff and shots from grassy knoll just icing on the cake. I look at 9/11 and the issues of controlled demolition and the like as being very comparable. In fact Peter Dale Scott recently produced an article for The Journal Of 9/11 Studies entitled 9/11, JFK, and War: Recurring Patterns in America's Deep Events that pointed out the following about the two events"...
1) Stock market speculation:
By this I am not referring to the dip and recovery that followed both events, which is common after any unsettling news. I am referring to the dealings in special stocks which suggested, in both cases, prior knowledge of what was to come. In early November 1963, David Harold (“Dry Hole”) Byrd and his investment partner, James Ling, bought $2 million worth of stock (132,600 shares) in Ling-Temcothe Vought (LTV), their own defense company. Then in February 1964 LTV received from the Navy the first major LBJ prime defense contract – for a fighter plane to be used in limited wars like Vietnam.
I have calculated that this $2.5 million insiders’ purchase was worth $26 million by the end of 1967. Moreover the prescient purchase was about one hundred times the size of any other insider purchase in aerospace issues in the same period. This does not prove that Byrd and Ling were directly involved in the Kennedy assassination, but it is likely that Byrd may have had inklings of what was going to happen. For Byrd owned the Texas School Book Depository building, where Oswald had been hired as an employee in October 1963. I have hypothesized that Oswald thought he was there on a surveillance assignment, to report on a fellow worker who was under investigation by the Dallas Police.
Byrd may have been privy to this arrangement, and have suspected more. This stock purchase is comparable to the notorious “put option purchases” just before 9/11 in 2001, in the stock of United Airlines and American Airlines. Here too the advance purchases suggest special knowledge, but here too the purchasers and the perpetrators need not have been the same, especially if we accept the indications that many widely scattered people and agencies had prior indications of the event about to occur. There were scattered indications that a few people had advance knowledge of the Kennedy assassination, a fact hard to reconcile with the Warren Commission conclusion that Oswald, a disgruntled loner, acted on his own. The most significant case was that of a Southern racist and activist, Joseph Milteer, who correctly predicted to a Miami police informant, that Kennedy would be shot "from an office building with a high-powered rifle." But Milteer was not unique. There were also pre-9/11 indications and warnings, far too numerous to enumerate here, of knowledge about an impending attack using hijacked airplanes."
So the question that comes to my mind is why isn't this focused on more by TV shows purporting to debunk JFK conspiracy theories? That is why I really like 9/11: Press For Truth because it touches on the demolition issue in small part by simply asking the best question of all, how do 110 story buildings collapse in 10 seconds, but, sticks to things that can't be debated as much? I believe this was also the goal of Loose Change: Final Cut. We can't let these people dictate the debate and let the public forget all the facts that have nothing to do with physics or structural engineering. Because then all the other evidence will just be the straw that broke the camels back. What say you Colin?
Colin Donoghue-A:
There are so many "distortions and omissions" concerning the official 9/11 story, it is logical, as well as strategically intelligent, that the re-opening of the investigation should be comprehensive and deal with as many of these as possible. The extensive questioning of all of the absurdities of the 9/11 Commission report in itself will be the tipping point. That's why there has been no fair mainstream debate of the truth concerning 9/11, because then the evidence and testimonies would start pouring in from all sides and the deception would longer have its power, it would collapse. Pulling together the best evidence, eyewitnesses, etc. for each facet of the 9/11 story, by an independent investigative body, is what needs to happen. The Big Lie could not last through that, and then our children will not have pure propaganda in their history books concerning 9/11/01. The research of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice (stj911.org), the books "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions" by David Ray Griffin and "9/11 Revealed: The New Evidence" by Ian Henshall, combined with the documentaries "9/11 Mysteries" and "9/11 Press For Truth", form a very good outline for the structure and focuses of the new investigation.
JMT-Q:
Do you actually think we will get a new investigation? Things like the recent questions raised in Japanese parliament are encouraging, but as George Carlin said last year...
"They don't investigate themselves in this country - it would be a whitewash, it would be like the Kennedy thing, it would be like everything."
If he's right the question is whether the court of public opinion is going to be enough to stop the agenda. Like another old adage says knowledge is power. The other thing that comes to my mind when I hear that quote is that the second government investigation into JFK, United States House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that "John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy." So there is more hope than Carlin lets on.
Colin Donoghue-A:
I believe it can happen. If activists are thinking in the back of their minds that it's "impossible" for a new independent 9/11 investigation, that belief is actually the obstacle to it manifesting. We have been conditioned through various means to believe we are powerless bystanders, and on top of that trained to maintain the disempowered thinking ourselves. They give us the program, so to speak, and then we run it on our own. We need to uninstall the disempowerment program and create a new operating system, one that has no built-in limitations for what we can create, in our personal lives or socio-political world. Why should they get away with the terrible crime of 9/11/01, and everything they've done since then (Iraq, Afghanistan, Torture, Illegal Detentions, Domestic Spying, Patriot Act, etc.) using their own act of mass-murder as "justification"? Why must it be that this absurd propaganda be accepted as fact, and taught to our children as history? There is no reason why we should allow it, and there is no reason why our efforts should be thought of as pointless. I think the main reason we haven't had a re-opening of the investigation yet is simply due to the large number of Americans who know the official story is lie, but have done absolutely nothing about it, believing that they are powerless. If everyone who knows it's a lie contacted there representatives/senators, media, community, etc. it would force the debate into the mainstream, it would expose the massive evidence and therefore lead to the re-opening of the investigation. Yesterday I read a great short essay on 911blogger.com titled "Why We'll Win", here are some fitting excerpts:
"People world-wide are waking up to the facts of manipulation of intelligence, false flag operations and rigged elections. This is a huge development.""When the truth is known, the idea generated by that truth -- of the need for true liberty protected from the manipulation of false flag attacks, [rigged elections] and fake intelligence -- and the action generated from that idea can sweep away the tools of repression and usher in a golden age of liberty and justice better than anything before."The first step is within our own minds; we must believe, we must know, that we have the power to bring positive change in the world. Without that, we've sealed our own fate. -
Colin Donoghue-A:
Well I appreciate your enthusiasm and I have very high hopes myself as well. I think given the history of whitewash people have been subjected to though it is easy to see why doubts exist. The bottom line is if people do nothing then they ensure that nothing will happen. For those reading I do have many simple actions people can take in regards to 9/11 truth posted on the activism page of this site.
Moving on Colin I do want to touch on your marijuana and hemp related activism. The thing I often wonder about is why it’s still illegal when one considers just the economic possibilities. In regards to harder drugs with no medicinal or industrial benefit we can see that there is more money to be made in "fighting" the drug war and incarcerating people. Not to mention all the evidence of government complicity in the drug trade. But it would seem to me just off hand that there are tons that could be made from government legalization and then control of marijuana and its derivative hemp. So what's the deal here?
Colin Donoghue-A:
The deal is the petrol-chemical and logging industries that are directly benefiting from the prohibition of hemp. A great book on the real reasons behind cannabis prohibition, and the many environmental/health benefits of hemp is "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" by Jack Herer, along with the film "The Hemp Revolution" directed by Anthony Clarke. The prison industry is a huge business in America, so the more prisoners, especially minority prisoners in the view of racists withing the criminal justice system, the better. Hemp could be a multi-billion dollar industry in the States, provide a source of income to Natives Americans caught in poverty, end deforestation (thereby preventing the destruction of our entire livable ecosystem), provide an excellent source of plastics, food, clothing, building materials, ethanol fuel and biodiesel... the reasons go on and on. We have to remember that the seemingly illogical behavior of our government, doing things "not in the interest of America", is not illogical at all. They don't care about America, they care about their corporate profit. They are corporate rulers; America has effectively become a corporate fascist state.
JMT-Q:
Well then I guess that begs the question of what are the best causes you know of regarding Marijuana reform that people can get involved in. Finally I just want to say out that you bring up an interesting point about our government doing seemingly illogical things and that it only seems that way because we are not seeing the larger picture. The same can be said of the Iraq war and the seemingly chaotic situation over there. It does look a mess until one considers things like the Neoconservative think tank the Project for a New American Century and how before 9/11 it called for "a substantial American force presence in the Gulf." Something like that takes time to establish and could only come about through building permanent military bases. Then low and behold in early May 2005 we find out through the supplemental funding bill for the war in Iraq that we are building 14 permanent military bases! The point being that without the so called quagmire in Iraq we wouldn't have time to achieve the goal that was set out for of creating a "substantial presence" in the region. So it not necessarily that we didn't have an exit strategy, it's that we never wanted one in the first place. A great similar fictional example is the Star Wars Attack of the Clones movie where towards the end everything appears to be in chaos, but the conspirators think everything is just fine...
COUNT DOOKU: "I bring you good news, my Lord. The war has begun." SIDIOUS " Excellent. Everything is going as planned."
And as princess Padme says in episode 3, "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause." I actually recommend reading the two following articles about the how much the recent star wars movies mirror actual life, and probably intentionally so...
http://www.lewrockwell.com/roberts/roberts102.html
http://www.infowars.com/articles/ps/darth_nwo.htm
So anyway... you can also speak to those points if you like, other wise just give us a last word Colin and thanks for doing the interview.
Colin Donoghue-A:
The two organizations I know of that are doing the most crucial work of reforming cannabis laws throughout the country through supporting/forming ballot initiatives and bills, are The Marijuana Policy Project (MPP.org) and Vote Hemp (VoteHemp.com). I highly recommended joining and supporting both those groups.
You're exactly right about Iraq; it is no accident that this war has been going on so long. We have the most powerful military force the world has ever seen, yet we can’t control the so-called insurgents, which have no military whatsoever? It's bullshit, just like Vietnam was. Both sides are being funded by those that are profiting from this occupation. The popular movie Zeitgeist (zeitgesitmovie.com) covers this phenomenon briefly. Instead of realizing this though, we have all these books and speeches coming from liberal leaders, even Republican critics, going on about how badly the occupation has been handled. All these critiques of American military strategy are completely worthless! As you said this quagmire is producing exactly what these fascists want: more oil, more military bases, more empire. You're right also that the movie Star Wars: Episode 3 is a clear recapitulation of the Bush/Cheney Administration, where a liberty loving Republic is turned into an oppressive empire under the guise of security. Deception and violence are the main tools of the Emperor, and if the deception isn't revealed, the empire, and the destruction and oppression that go along with it will continue on (until the Rebels fight back at least). And the biggest deceptions of the current American Empire have been mostly ignored by the retarded liberal media, which has been complimentary to the corporate media propaganda rather than an opposing force, by ignoring the most crucial issues: 9/11 Truth and Election Truth. Instead we have them just chronicling the destruction and oppression, which just produces desensitization and normalization when the information is without the corresponding solutions, like the massive nation-wide Impeachment and 9/11 Truth movements, or the Election Reform Movement.
These media gatekeepers continuously spawn ineffectual articles and commentary that assume the official story is true on the foundational issues, producing ridiculous theories to make sense of how the impossible was possible: like how the most advanced military defenses in the world didn't function at all on 9/11/01, or how steel framed buildings completely collapse from fire, straight down at near free fall speed, for the first time in history; or how Bush won the election again in 2004 after his popularity being even less than in 2000 when he lost, also contrary to the exit polls showing Kerry as the clear winner, on top of millions of newly registered Democrats and the biggest young voter turnout yet, and then of course there are the new electronic voting machines with their massive anomalies especially in the deciding state of Ohio, where the elections were run by Kenneth Blackwell, Co-chair of Bush/Cheney campaign (just like Katherine Harris in Florida during the 2000 election, also co-chair of the Bush/Cheney campaign)... I could go on pointing out the blatantly obvious truth that 9/11 was an act of state-sponsored terrorism and the elections were stolen but instead I'll refer readers to the 9/11 Truth sources I mentioned earlier in this interview, and concerning the elections I give sources to research in my final statement below. This is what is most important, getting people to look at the high quality sources of information that show the official stories on these foundational issues are false, and demand the media and our representatives address that information. Many people are ignoring these issues because they are conspiracy theories, but that is extremely ignorant, firstly because the evidence is far more persuasive for the alternative theories, and secondly because it ignores history, where fascism and state-sponsored violence has been the norm rather than unusual.
I'll finish with a short call to action I finished after attending the Publicizing Truth with Consequences conference I attended in Santa Cruz this past weekend. There were a lot of 9/11 Truth activists there, along with David Ray Griffin, Cynthia Mckinney, Cindy Sheehan, Ray McGovern, Bob Fitrakis... it gave me some hope for the future of America. Particularly encouraging was discovering a truly independent and high quality newspaper: The Rock Creek Free Press (rockcreekfreepress.com), order a bundle for your community! We need to support and produce media like that to counter the corporate propaganda and blind liberal media, so the People can have the truth and take this country back. Thanks for the on-target discussion John, keep up the great work you do.
"Progressive Media of America Needs to Stop Playing the Fool"
The name of the conference was Publicizing Truth With Consequences, and we need to recognize that some truth has far more consequence than others. The Honorable Cynthia McKinney has acted on this understanding by publicly exposing the lies about 9/11/01 and the past two presidential elections, the two deceptions that have been the life-blood and eternal justification for the agenda of Bush/Cheney regime. If all we talk about are the crimes that use the official 9/11 story as their basis (like the killing of approximately a million people in Iraq and Afghanistan, the torture, the detentions, the removal of our Constitutional Rights, ignoring global warming, etc.) without exposing the truth about 9/11, we are partaking in a futile exercise, as the past years have clearly shown. There is so much high quality evidence that disproves the official conspiracy theory, while there is practically none of any validity supporting it, that one has to be a fool to still believe Bush, Inc. and their controlled 9/11 Commission. David Ray Griffin was at this conference, did you listen to what he had to say? Have you read his books? Have you seen the documentary 9/11 Press For Truth, or looked at the research of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth? Or are you still playing the fool for this fascist treasonous mass-murdering administration? Do you really think Bush/Cheney legitimately won the past two elections? If so, why? Based on what, the word of the electronic voting machines and Kenneth Blackwell? Have you even looked at the evidence presented in the documentaries Hacking Democracy and Invisible Ballots or in the books Fooled Again by Mark Crispin Miller, What Went Wrong In Ohio: Congressman John Conyers Report on the 2004 Presidential Election edited by Anita Miller, Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen? by Steven Freeman & Joel Bleifuss and How the GOP stole America's 2004 election and is rigging 2008, by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman? Or do you just avoid it all because it's conspiracy theory? What major crime in history has not been a conspiracy? Do you even know what that word means? I've been extremely frustrated over the past years hearing about the endless list of crimes of this administration, while there is zero accountability, no impeachment, because the anti-war/fascism/poverty/pollution, etc. movements don't see the obvious truth that the absurd official 9/11 story is Bush, Inc.'s eternal get out of jail free card. Talk about beating around the Bush! There is only one way to bring this Goliath down, and that is through exposing the lies about 9/11/01 and the elections. The entire anti-bush movement needs to focus on re-opening the 9/11 investigation coupled with starting impeachment proceedings and replacing all electronic voting machines with paper ballots; all other issues of importance will not be addressed as they should be until we expose these deceptions and get accountability.
Wake the hell up people and do what has to be done! Thank you.
